Day Three
of the
USS Ranger Reunion
Friday, October 11
Carillon Historical Park
The First Airplane
at the Wright Brothers Museum
We learned a lot of History involving Dayton, Ohio. The "Gem City" is home to this Park which highlights the industrial success of how this city changed the World. The first airplane, the automobile self-starter, the cash register and also the site of the National Football League's First Game. By the turn of the 20th century Dayton had more patents, per capita than any other U. S. City. One sixth of the Nation's Corporate Executives had spent a portion of their career at the legendary Dayton Company we know as National Cash Register (NCR).
We all did a lot of Walking at this park which also featured a small town with reconstructed homes and public buildings. Thus we were ready for a relaxing evening at the Reunion Hotel after absorbing so much historyl
