It Is Finished!!!
Many Months of Campaign 2012 are now complete for the two individuals seeking the Office of President of the United States of America.
The voting booths are now closed in many states in the Eastern United States of America so I will publish this Blog Entry.
For months we have all been the targets of both campaigns. Phone Calls, Mail Outs and Television and Radio Commercials have been transmitted to every person in the United States of America.
Today, November 6, 2012 Registered Voters have traveled to their respective voting places: unless they participated in Early Voting, which has been conducted in many states.
So we now commence the period of waiting to see who “We The People” have elected to be President of the United States of America.
I have many concerns and am also aware that no matter whom we elect; our United States of America will face many serious challenges in the short-term future as well as the long-term future.
It is my sincere desire that every one of us who voted will strive to keep the respective “Winners we Selected” on target and on focus to perform their respective task. It is my sincere desire, and hopefully yours also, that the Winners will Work to make the United States of America a better Nation. A better nation as regards employment opportunities for all, education for our current Scholars and all future Scholars so that they will be prepared to enter the work force and be productive citizens.
When I was much younger I, like you, if you are also a mature citizen were told that the purpose of studying history was so that we as a Society, a Nation would not repeat the mistakes of the past. Conversely, we also studied history so that we could emulate the successes of the past as we enacted policies and procedures to secure the current situations and also prepared for the future.
I will not dwell on past failures; so please be aware that I will focus my comments here in this post to the recent events that allowed “We The People” in the United States of America to be the Leaders in the World.
I recall with vivid detail how a President challenged us to “Put a Man on the Moon” within ten years. We Did It In 1969!!!
Now going back a few years prior to our winning the space race, I also recall the” 13 Days of October,” which was just fifty years ago last month. I recently read an account of this historic event where a columnist quoted Mr. Arthur M. Schlesinger: “Kennedy was ‘arranging the military setting that would make diplomacy effective.”’
Which leads to a real concern that I have regarding the outcome of Campaign 2012. It is my sincere hope that no matter who is elected that they are focused on the Welfare of our United States of America for both the short term and the long term. We need a Military that is second to none if we are to be able to have a military capacity adequate enough to insure that any future efforts at resolving any crisis in our world with diplomacy.
I am confident that you, each and every one of my readers here can understand and also appreciate the concept that I just discussed the previous paragraph.
The most enlightening comment I read regarding the “13 Days of October” was a quote from a letter sent by a U. S. Air Force Pilot named Gerald McIlmoyle who penned this in a note to his wife during the crisis: “I know there is only one way you and I want the kids to grow up – and that is free…..It is time to take stock of the possible results if each of us doesn’t do his share in stopping the communist tide….Make sure you say your prayers at night.” Please be aware that Gerald McIlmoye served in our Air Force and is a retired Brigadier General. He was the pilot of a U-2 Aircraft that acquired the pictures that President Kennedy used to bring the Cuban Missile Crisis to a peaceful conclusion.
So as we all await the results of the voting of “We The People” it is my hope that our next President will have the support of “We The People” and that he also knows that “We The People” have given him a mandate to adhere to the provisions of our Constitution, to Protect the Precious Freedoms that so many have perished for and so many have defended by their service in the Army, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and the Navy in our past, just as they are now doing so in the present and hopefully in the future.
In conclusion, Mr. President Elect, as you prepare to swear the Oath of Office in January of 2013 please be aware of the awesome trust that we have given to you:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Sir, that is your task.
As I complete this post I also recall my own oath of enlistment and yes, many reenlistments during my 21 years of Service in our Military.
I, Alan F. E. Thiese, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
Yes, We The People Have High Expectations Of You and Your Conduct as our President. Thank You!!!!
It is my hope and prayer this evening, and each day in the future during my time on this Earth that God Will Bless America. I sincerely believe that God is in Charge.
