Bibb County GOP
Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Party Headquarters
During the Monthly Community Meeting
Financial Expert, Sherri Goss of the
Rosenberg Financial Group, Inc.
will discuss financial issues affecting us today.  Open To All

Thirty Seven attended this informative event.  The following is composed from the notes I took during Sherri’s presentation:

The Good News:

·        The USA is the World’s largest Oil Producer therefore we do not need to panic when Iran threatens to reduce oil shipments.
·        The USA exports Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) to China.  This fact along will most likely close the trade gap we have with China within the next six years.
·        Our President has redefined the definition of “Wet Lands.”  During the previous administration the definition established was so broad that run off from a storm that established a temporary pond was then considered “Wet Lands” which prohibited farmers cultivating this land from then on.
·        Our President is requiring people, if able, to work if they desire to receive welfare payments from our government.
·        The USA’s Disability Trust Fund is now gaining funds.
·        Our President has reduced the abuse by China on Intellectual Property Rights. A right that is had by a person or by a company to have exclusive rights to use its own plans, ideas, or other intangible assets without the worry of competition, at least for a specific period of time.

Concerns about what the Future holds for all in the USA if a Democrat should be elected President in 2020:

·        The impact of those who desire to implement the New Green Deal has yet to be understood.  Implementation will generate major impact for all.
·        China does not subscribe to the Paris Accords regarding the Climate Change therefore they can continue to pollute with no consequences.
·        Those who support a “Carbon Tax” have not considered the impact such action will have,  A whole new government bureaucracy will be needed to administer the “Carbon Tax” regulations.  Once a bureaucracy is established it often operates without control by our “Elected Officials.”
·        The CAFÉ Standards for the auto industry can become more restrictive and cause a major impact on that industry.  Transportation requiring battery powered cars/trucks can have an impact on distance traveled each day because of the storage capacity of the battery.
·        Free Education for all is a “Farce.”   We need to educate to the needs of the industries of the future and skilled craftspeople required to maintain our society.  A College/University education that is free will have many taking advantage of the education with no regard for the potential to acquire gainful employment upon graduation.  The State of Georgia is currently focused on training individuals in useful trades and occupations that will meet the needs of the people by using the Technical Schools
·        Some corporations are now offering free education and other benefits to their employees versus relying on government programs.
·        Some have proposed taxing “Fund Transactions” conducted by shareholders and financial organizations to generate the funds needed to provide the “Free Education For All” programs that some candidates are now promoting.
·        At the current time estates can pass to heirs tax free if the estate is worth less than $12,000,000.00.  There are those who want to lower this limit to $3,000,000.00.  This will have a drastic impact on the ability of farmers and owners of family businesses to pass the rewards of their efforts to heirs.  Additionally, it would require the establishment of yet another bureaucracy to administer this proposal.
·        The widely promoted $15.00 per hour minimum wage will have a major impact on job availability.  Rather than continuing to maintain the current staff levels many employees will implement technology to replace their human labor force.  Many consider the implementation of the $15.00 minimum wage as being self-destructive.
·        Health Care For All.  It cannot be funded!!!  Medicare for All is political suicide.   After promoting the “Affordable Care Act” for ten years the Democrats are now promoting the Health Care for All which cannot even begin to be funded.
