 Leopold's Ice Cream

Since 1919

Savannah, Georgia

On November 7th My Bride and I participated in a Blue Star Marker Dedication at the Tiny Homes Village for Veterans.  Of course, when I am in Savannah I must enjoy Ice Cream from Leopold's.  Even though it was raining in abundance we made the stop at 212 East Broughton Street.  One of the benefits of the rain was that there was no line to get into the Shoppe.

 The Great Adventures of

Janice and Alan during

October 2024

Today, November 27th I will conclude the days of the Great Adventures which happened from 15 October through 30 October.

After our full day at the Museum we spend time in Tipp, Ohio with new Ranger Friends.  We ate at this Cafe':

We also spend a few hours exploring this Town which is considered by the folks who live there as the "Best Small Town!"

We then traveled to Peoria, Illinois for a "Gold Star Families" event which is conducted every year for the past ten years.  My Bride and I also visited the Peoria Botanical Gardens and she took many pictures which she will use for a Garden Club Presentation, so I will not post any here.

On Saturday, 19 a Convocation was conducted by this organization which recognized these Special Families during a time of fellowship and a program that recognized their Heroes.

At the Conclusion of the program a group picture was taken:

We then Traveled to Northeast Iowa, specifically the town of Guttenberg, which I refer to as "The Holy Land!"

The above picture is
the reason I call
Iowa "The Holy Land!"

A ritual we often perform when
we visit My Hometown.
We stop at Lock and Dam # 10, which

One of the workers who
was working that day was a
Nephew.  He felt honored that
He and the Locks were our
First Stop.

We then checked into our Rental for the week and prepared ourselves for Sunday, 20 October!!  The Sunday Worship Experience was the subject of a Prior Blog Post.
