Alan Remembers His Youth

Considering all that is happening in the World today I have determined that it is appropriate to become involved in some of the great passions of my Past.  I decided to be a small time Gardener.  My Bride calls me a "Farmer."  Admittedly I have a small operation.  We all know that the soil here is not appropriate for growing vegetables so I decided to be a "Container Gardener."  It all started while I was shopping at Lowes for something and I noted the great looking "Red Pots" made in Mexico.  I went home and a few days later I returned to Lowe's with my Project in mind.  I purchased the containers and some landscape fabric as well as Potting Soil.

The next day I placed a "coffee filter" on top of the hole in the bottom of the containers and filled them with "packing peanuts" about one third of the way placing a layer of landscape fabric on top of the peanuts.  Then, the potting soil.  This procedure allows the containers to be more manageable should I ever need or like to move them.
This is a sage plant and I am looking forward to using the leaves for seasoning.
I placed a Red Bell Sweet Pepper in one container and Lemon Thyme, Lemon Balm and Greek Oregano around the edge.
This Container has a Bush Goliath Tomato as well as Lemon Thyme, Lemon Balm and Greek Oregano.  I am already looking forward to a "Matter Samwich."

2020 Project

I have planted an area East of the House to hide the Compressors.  I have included two Native Plants which I have researched that should perform well.  The first picture of the Tulip Poplar is included because it was also blooming well in April.  This tree is not included the new area.  I have posted several other plants here which are also low growing and should also do well.
