Greetings Honorable and Duly Elected Officials/Leaders,

This is number 47 to You My Duly Elected Leaders.  Today I take the opportunity to wish each of You a Very Blessed 2026.  I do have one request.  Please govern us, “We the People” like you actually cared about us.  I do not appreciate a lot of talk and sincerely hope that Your Actions will reflect You Care of Us, the Legal Citizens of the United States of America!

Recently I posted this actual story about Myself and want to point out an actual history about “Affordability!”

Many Commentators and even Politicians are talking a lot about "Affordability!"  I was an E-6 in our U. S. Navy in October of 1969.  My taxable income for 1969 was $4,654.00.

I purchased this three bedroom home in Charleston, S. C. for My family of three dependents.  I was well blessed at this point in My Life.  I was 29 years old.

This Home was purchased for $15,000.00.  Please be aware that the 1965 Ford Galaxie was paid for so the only payments other than routine living expenses was the House Payment.

So I have used an online source for value of this home today, December 2025 and the sum would be $133,354.00.  The income of $4,654.00 in October of 1969 for an E-6 with eight years service in December 2025 would be $41,375.37!!

So let us all consider affordability.  The Home in 1969 was 3.22 times the annual income.  The home with the 2025 price adjusted for inflation was 2.20 times the annual income.

So let us all look at the real facts before we "Jump on the Affordability Bus!!!

Warm regards,
