This is an image of some of the survivors from the USS Spence and the USS Hull which were lost at sea on December 18, 1944. I just learned of this tragic event at a recent reunion of USS Hull (DD-945) a few years ago. We had the opportunity to meet some of the survivors from the USS Hull (DD-350) from that day in 1944.
