Smoke Alarms

Last Week I finally checked both Smoke Alarms in my home.  They are mounted high and I must stand on a chair to test them.  Both failed the test.

I checked them out and they are hard wired to the electric system so it was not because of a weak or run down battery.

I contacted my Home Security Company and I was informed that it may be a week before they can check them out.  I was advised to acquire a Smoke Alarm so I would have protection.  I contacted the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and they came and installed this Smoke Alarm within an hour of being contacted.  I can now feel safe.  Before that I felt safe, but I did not know the Alarms were not working.  The Firemen mounted the Alarm on the wall just below the ceiling so that I can reach it to test it monthly.  The Alarm also has a lithium battery that should last ten years.

I appreciate the rapid response of the Fire Department and can sleep securely knowing that My Bride and I are protected with a reliable Smoke Alarm.
