Bonus Time
U. S. Navy Reenlistees

(Oct. 13, 2008) Sailors recite the oath of enlistment during a mass reenlistment ceremony for 117 Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). A total of $2.4 million in selective reenlistment bonuses is to be distributed among the Sailors. Ronald Reagan is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. Today the Flower Child salutes the Heroes who are serving our Country. The average reenlistment bonus for each of these Sailors amounts to $20,000.00. Before any reader here becomes upset with this amount please be aware that anyone who qualifies for Service in our Nation's Military could enlist. These reenlistees all have at least four years of training and duty to country. To replace them with new recruits is also an expensive procedure.
