Tea Party - Macon, Georgia

Following a performance of our Nation's National Anthem, State Representative Allen Peake gave an inspiring talk about the current situation we all find ourselves in today. Our United States of America is fast approaching a socialist society.

We then heard from Georgia's Insurance Commissioner, John Oxendine who is also running for the position of Governor of Georgia. As you can tell there was a plethora of signs concerning our National Debt and what we must do to resolve the problem.
A view of the crowd from the balcony of Macon's City Hall. I would have to say that well over 400 citizens attended this 2009 Tea Party. Please note that this is my estimate and not an actual count.

Before I departed this event I just had to capture this image. This is an Eternal Flame Memorial dedicated to our Nation's Defenders on the Court Yard of Macon's City Hall. I could not help but think how many of our Nation's Heroes gave their lives so that we might enjoy the freedoms they so well defended. I wonder what they would think about where we are today, depending on our Government to feed, house and cloth us as well as provide Medical Care for all.
In summary, we simply cannot spend our way out of this situation that we now have in the United States of America. As one speaker noted and I believe quoted a former Prime Minister of Great Britian, "Socialism is fine until you run out of other people's money to finance it."
In conclusion, it was also noted that the problems we are now facing in the United States did not just happen in the past four months, the past eight years, but that we have been relying on the government for far too long to solve all of the problems facing our society.
In summary, we simply must do more than talk about the problems. We need to encourage our Lawmakers at all levels to act for the benefit of the long term for the benefit of all peoples.
A new paradigm must be implemented.
