USS Bainbridge (DDG-96) In recent days this great U. S. Navy Warship has been in the news. This is a file image as she visited a recent port.

"Souda Bay, Crete, Greece (Jan. 10, 2008) The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) arrives at NATO Pier Facility in Souda harbor for a routine port visit. Bainbridge is on a regularly scheduled six-month deployment. U.S. Navy photo by Mr. Paul Farley (Released)"
I focus on this ship today because of the recent events regarding pirates. To learn more about this ship please visit:
It is my desire, hope and prayer that this situation will be resolved very quickly. Our United States Navy is ready. I know that from my days on ships. I am also confident that the ships of this class are far superior to any ship that I was assigned to. As a Country we must act to maintain the safety of merchant ships on the High Seas. I find it especially difficult that the current merchant ship situation involves a shipment of relief supplies to people in Africa. These people need these supplies and yet citizens of their own countries have hi-jacked a relief vessel. It just does not make any sense to me.

What a shame. It would appear that the United States of America would be able to recall the once former British Empire.

Now we have a United States of America taking the back seat to a few pirates.

Let us all hope that our "Commander in Chief," will step up to the plate and be a Leader. Although it will not be an easy task, Leadership is what is now required to keep the United States of America as the World Leader.

Everyone knows that being a Leader is always not easy. Tough choices must be made for the "Good of All."

Let us all hope that our Commander in Chief is not a Leader with his focus on being popular. He must have his focus on "What is Right" for the long term.

Good Easter Sunday Afternoon,

For two hours now I have been watching the news on Television.

Captain Phillips is now safe onboard a U. S. Navy Ship.

Soon we will hear how he was rescued during a U. S. Navy Press Conference.

I am glad that this event is now behind us and hope that the attention of the World will now focus on the plight of other victims of the Pirates who have been allowd to flourish for too long.

From what I have heard, our Commander in Chief did direct that this situation be resolved.

I am looking forward to hearing the details later this afternoon.

What a great blessing for all peoples who love freedom!!!!!
