Fringe Tree
or
Grancy Grey Beard
or
Old-Man's-Beard

Although the official name of this plant is "Chionanthus virginicus" I, the Flower Child prefer the name of Fringe Tree. I have had this in our South Garden for about five years now. It always blooms in April and has a delightful fringe flower with a lovely fragrance. This image was from a previous year and the image was taken at night with a spotlight showing up through the shrub to capture the beauty of the flowers. It is starting the fringe foliage and within seven days should be at full beauty.
