2009 Cherry Blossom Festival - Macon, Georgia

Macon, Georgia. A view of the Third Street Park from the North End. You can see that the famed Yoshino Cherry Trees are not quite ready. With the current warm weather they should be in full bloom by March 24th or March 25th. This is the site of the special Cherry Ice Cream Lunches each week day during the Festival.
Third Street Park from the South End. A nice fresh green scene and again, the trees are just not quite ready for the Festival.

The William M. Wadley Memorial at the intersection of Third Street and Mulberry Street. This view allows you to view a few Cherry Blossom Blooms and this Rail Road Baron of the 1800s. Should you desire to learn more about this gentleman please visit:

William M. Wadley was responsible for the merger of eleven railroads and he was also the founder of "The Ocean Steamship Company of Savannah." The citizens of Bolingbroke, Georgia are aware of this baron and can most likely show you the area of the Wadley Homestead. As we all know statues are also favorite roost for birds. Here you can see a Robin taking a rest.
