Cherry Blossom Festival

2009 Macon, Georgia

It is true, Macon, Georgia has over 350,00 Blooming Cherry Blossom Trees. The 2009 Cherry Blossom Festival has come to a conclusion. Thousands have enjoyed the Balloon Glow, thousands have enjoyed the Ice Cream and Cake at the Noontime Celebrations at Third Street, thousands have enjoyed the fun and frolic at the Central City Park just East of downtown Macon, thousands have enjoyed Pink Pancakes as well as thousands have attended the Arts and Crafts Fair on Mulberry Street. The 2009 Street Party was threatened with rain, but the weather cooperated and many citizens attended this gala affair also.

The 2009 Parade was also a great success. There was much to enjoy and also appreciate during the 2009 Festival. I am glad that I chose to live in Middle Georgia. We have a delightful climate and the recent rains certainly flushed the abundant pollen away. Sure there will be some more in the next few days, but the beauty that abounds here at this time of the year is overwhelming. In my own gardens there is an abundance of azeleas and dogwood blooms. A delightful time of the year to be sure.
