"Heroes & Legends"

I recently enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Heroes and Legends Concert performed by the Macon Symphony Orchestra.

The Guest Conductor for this Concert was Ward Stare.  He led the Symphony in a most able manner.  His youthful attitude was reflected in his style of conducting the following selections:

The Flying Dutchman by Richard Wagner

The Sleeping Beauty Ballet by Protr Il'yich Tchaikovsky

Selections from 'Erocia' by Ludwig van Beethoven

Principal Sponsors for this Concert were:

William and Eleanor A. Lane Family Foundation

Neurology Associates/ S.I. Tsai

State Bank and Trust Company

As a Veteran I appreciated the theme of this Concert and also the selections.  They were enjoyable and fun to listen to.  Of special notice from my point of view was the fact that the Audience included many young people from the local High Schools.

We all know that Music and the other Arts can inspire everyone.  I am already looking forward to the Suite & Symphonic Concert which will be held on February 18, 2012 at 7:30 P.M. at The Grand right here in Macon, Georgia
