A Learning Opportunity

Several years ago, a young man I know obtained employment at a small business. After several years he was offered a promotion to foreman. Of course he took the opportunity and proceeded to work out the day. The very next day his promotion was announced and he was presented to his former peers as their new boss. No problem, but as the day wore on there appeared to be a lack of respect for the new boss. Why just yesterday he worked alongside them and even played practical jokes on management with them.
But this could not go on. The second day as the new boss, this young man presented each of his workers a packet of Construction Paper and a Box of Crayons. When they asked him what these items were for, the reponse was: "If you want to act like children I thought I would provide you with age appropriate tools." End of Problem.
Oh, The Things We Can Learn, If We Will But Observe
