Lutherans
Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services
From the time I was a child growing up in Northeast Iowa I will always remember how the ladies of the church made quilts for the residents of Watertown, Wisconsin.
Bethesda is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and works cooperatively with LCMS on a number of national and international initiatives.

The mission statement of this organization is: To enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through services that share the good news of Jesus Christ.
To learn more about this organization which has been assisting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over one hundred five years please visit:
In addition to the quilts the ladies sent to Bethesda I can also recall how the ladies of the church also cooked down lard with lye to make soap for use at the Bethesda Lutheran Home laundry.
