World War II Ended

Everyone of us knows that World War II in the Pacific and the involvement of our Great Country was spurred by the events of December 7th, 1941 when the Japanese bombed our U. S. Naval Facilities and Ships at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Even though I attempt to remain up to date regarding U. S. History, especially history involving the U. S. Navy, I overlooked September 2, 1945 as the end of the World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations when the Japanese surrendered on board the USS Missouri (BB-63) in Tokyo Bay.
