Music at the Grand Opera House
Macon, Georgia
Last evening the Flower Child and his Bride attended the Band of the United States Air Force Reserve Concert Band Concert. It was a very appropriate activity for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration.
In addition to a fun filled evening of music, the Band focused on the Youth - Our leaders of tomorrow. The Director presented a ten year old girl with a baton after she conducted the Band. Now, prior to her performance she was given a two minute period of instruction on how to conduct a Band. She did a flawless job of conducting and executed the training she had received very well.
The next youth focused event was showcasing the talents of several members of the First Presbyterian Day School Band. These high school students also performed well with the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
The Band also performed the "Liberty for All" arrangement which included a narrative featuring quotes about "Liberty" with a dynamic conclusion featuring the highlights of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" Speech.
An impressive evening as we prepared for the 44th President of the United States of America.
