 This Sports Complex stands as a Memorial to Corporal Stephen Daniel Shannon who gave his life in defense of our Country on January 31, 2007 in Iraq.

This Sports Complex is in Guttenberg, Iowa, a town of about 2000 citizens.  The Clayton Ridge High School is located in Guttenberg and this complex was made possible by an an outpouring of gratitude in the form of financial memorials at the time that Corporal Shannon was returned to Iowa.
